Compressed files should work too. If you want to attach a file that’s not working I can take a look.

It seems that everything works now, i tried to open several files and i think everything was a route problem, but it’s weird becouse yesterday nothing worked.

So sorry for all the trouble and for annoying you, and thank you for all the help!

Hi Rick.

I just installed art smart 2.1 but I can’t get paste to work from illustrator. Illustrator is CC and updated and c4d is r15 with the 57 update. I’m on windows 8.1. Anyone else who experienced the paste command not working?

*edit: By the way the copy paste from c4d to illustrator works a charm just not the other way around.

Does it give a line number? Are you doing copy/paste, import or loading a file in an ArtSmart Object?

There’s some sort of IOError occurring when trying to open the ai file. It’s not even getting to the point of doing any of the parsing - it’s throwing an error just trying to open the file. Unfortunately the code isn’t set up to provide more info on the exception. Can you double-check the permissions on that Illustrator file?

I just reproduced this one. The clipboard stuff is a bit ‘funky’, but I think I’ve got a fix. I’ll try to push out an update this week.

All permissions are ok for the illustrator file

Working on it. I’ll put out an update this week that will hopefully at least give us some more debug info.

It’s hard to tell from the res of your screenshot - is there a slash between Desktop and NAME in the file path? Also, are there any special characters in your username?

I’ll have to do some hunting to figure out how to handle special characters in the path.

I just published an updated version 2.3, which fixes some of the recent issues that popped up,
including special characters in the path and ArtSmart Paste on Windows 8.

For a full changelog, check the first post in this thread.
