View Interchange

Interchange refers to the transfer of various types of files, object meshes, images and so on among different applications.  In some cases, special interchange formats are used, such as DXF, FBX and STL, which require your meshes to be specifically saved in one of these formats.  In other cases, the interchange occurs with native files, that is, files that you do not need to first convert, but that can use the native “.C4D” file format, for example.  Typically, images do not need to be converted, as image formats have been standardized for many years now.  Meshes, on the other hand, often utilize formats that are specific to each manufacturer, and will typically require a transfer conversion.
