Alex,

To produce the initial traced object, the Spline, you need a certain amount of frames to create it.

The Point object moves, the Tracer produces the splines.
The animation is change-over-time: How much the Point object is moved and how long.

To cover for the Camera animation, the Field Of View with the Spline, you need more than just a spline object that covers the FOV of the still view. In other words: Field of view plus expected motion. While keeping in mind that the initial use of the Spline will be just the tip of each sub-spline (stars).

If the created Spline is too short, the overlapping will not be sufficient.
While too short, you could just scale it in the motion direction, since all your “stars” will create a straight line on the end.
A little bit too long is not a problem, as the MoSpline does not need to have the “End” value reaching 100% if the endless line effect is established, the “End” parameter of the MoSpline does not need to be increased.

You need to set it up, to see all these dependencies working. I had mine too short, and it took me a while to get a seamless animation. I wanted to the point that out, so you know already the remedy.

As a side effect: If your Trails are smaller on end than at the head, the long trails will help to close it more smoothly.

All the best

P.S.:

How about this super simplified version, with the same effect?

Hey Sassi!  This is cool too, but much slower unless I set it to MultiInstance (which is fine).  Would this work with a sweep node so I can have the tip smaller than the tail?

Thanks again!

Hi Alex,

Yes, it will work with a Sweep.

A smaller end than the start would leave you with a result (then end stripe image) that is not loop-able anymore, as equal sized stripes..
Or do I miss something?

Cheers

You’re very welcome, Alex.

( Of course, I looked into it, but I guess we got with Extrude already a proper solution.)

My best wishes for your project.
