I’m trying to edit the weighting on a character mesh for the first time using R13, but when I double-click the weight tag (to activate weight tool), the mesh does not turn black and show the weight/color for selected joints. Instead the associated mesh vertices for the selected joint become highlighted, and all other mesh vertices are black, but the overall material for the character is still visible, rather than black.
I’m thinking this must be an interface setting that is not set correctly, as I’ve tried the same operation (with same result) with my own character as well as a character supplied to accompany a rigging tutorial from Brian Horgan for MaxonUK: http://maxonuk.com/tutorials/rigging_assets.zip (link to youtube tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d305rnhJ5gA )
Any suggestions for a fix to get those weights showing up is appreciated.
