Can animation still happen after follow position in dynamic takes control?

Hi Community,

I have an animation scene setup here where the white objects resolve to form a sphere using “follow position” in the dynamic body. But would love to have those white objects continue rotating individually, not as a group. Is there any way I can achieve that? After the follow position takeovers, it seems to stop everything, and I can’t use manual animation inside the cloner.

Thank you very much in advance for any answers,
Artefact

Hi Artefact,

Please have a look at this idea:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/FtnxkVi5ycXyQldhGgTsoy9Kd9gwfbYnVACj3jdj14c

Perhaps after testing it, you might find it will do what you need. Please keep in mind that a linear falloff or changing the parameters will undo all the rotations (it doesn’t start or stop).
The Time Effector is set to Deform>Object.

Let me know if there is anything else.

Enjoy your project

This is exactly what I need! I have never used Time Effector before. I’ll do some study about how this Time Effector really works in dept later.
Thank you very much once again Dr. Sassi! You are such a lifesaver for the community.

Best,

That is very kind of you, Artefact, thanks a lot.

I perhaps do not say it often enough, but it is a pleasure to explore all these projects and questions.

Here is a little file with the rotate and unwind effect while using a Linear Field/falloff.

I hope that illustrates my concern, but perhaps, it might be useful in some cases.

My best wishes
