How to trace the clones when using CV-Dynamic Connector Object?

Hi!

The CV-Dynamic Connector Object is great and very easy to use.
If I want to create the string inside of a CV-Dynamic Connected,  pearl necklace, I would use a tracer object and reference the main cloner (containing the pearls) The goal here is to have the string (tracer object) run through all the pearls.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas?

Kind Regards / Alex

Hi Alex,

I use here the file “05_CV_DYCON_PearlsOnStatue_vA02.c4d”, Files==> available where the tutorial is.

To get this string into the Pearls, you need to cache the Dynamics. Just to get no delay in the animation.

Then drag either the Cloner or the “CV-Dynamic Connector Object” into the a MoGraph Matrix Object, set to Object> Mode: Object, and to Distribution> Axis
In each case the top object of the group should be used for the Matrix.

This Matrix Object goes then into the List of the Tracer. Here, Object Mode> Connect All Objects and Close Spline checked.

Sorry, that I can’t post the file here, as it is not a public file.
If you have any trouble, let me know, and I send the file via PM
If there is any other question, please never hesitate to ask.

(BTW, the Tutorial Forum should be used only via “Help With this Tutorial” button, to keep things organized. Thank you!)|

All the best

Hi Dr. Sassi!

Thank you for your kind help and sorry for the wrong post location.

I studied the ā€œ05_CV_DYCON_PearlsOnStatue_vA02.c4dā€ file and got it to work. I noticed that it uses an Array object for the pearls. In the following setup, I used a cloner and cached all simulations but there is still something that prevents the Tracer from doing its magic:

I must be missing something.

Alex, Please don’t worry about my hint with the forum, that happens so often that I really don’t mind.

Please have a look a the file below:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/iS3z4doAE62EHKzIpPevkusRHtZ1DAy9F1Tks033LJV

Caching the Dynamic (Note that MoGraph Caches were below the Dynamics in the provided file, in that way, they had no clue about the Dynamics. Switch the Dynamic tags to Off to see what the MoGraph Cache holds)

Let me know if there is anything else, I’m happy to look into it.

Cheers

Ahh….It works beautifully now. The order of operations is important here.
Thank you very much for helping me Dr Sassi.
I hope to post the end result here when everything is ready. (It is for a jewellery project.)

Kind Regards / Alex
