Hi,

i am trying to use the Redshift CPU renderer. But when i turn off my GPU in the preferences and i want to start the IPR i get this error:

“Failed to allocate necessary GPU reccyclable memory: Aborting the render”

How can I get this to work? The machine has only a Cinema 4D Plan.

Please help and thanks already.

Hi daniel,

To my understanding, that change needs a restart. Where I get uncertain is your description in comparison with the Help Content
https://help.maxon.net/c4d/2023/en-us/Default.htm#_REDSHIFT_/html/Redshift+Preferences.html?TocPath=Configuration|Preferences|Renderer|_____1
Here it tells that Cinema 4D without a Redshift 3D license is supposed to run on CPU only.

I tried to reproduce this here, but the only device with an external GPU I have has only a tiny graphic unit inside. So, I’m undecided about what triggers on my side that Ram alert.

I would suggest checking, while having your exact “specs” in the discussion, with the support:

All the best
