Reference Image Blocked by Model

Hey everybody,

I’m using a background reference image to model a pen knife in C4D and I noticed that when I switched shading modes on my model, it completely blocks the reference image behind. I’m noticing this in all shading modes except the ‘lines’ mode.

I swear it doesn’t always do this? I may have hit the wrong button, but I’d like to edit in Top view with quick shading and still see my reference behind.

C4D project linked.

Thanks for any help!

Hi J.,

Thanks for the file. I’m not certain what you saw; I hope to have recreated it with an image of my own.

I checked back to R21, and the result is the same.

Could it be that the Attribute> Basic> X-Ray setting is of any help? Which needs to be enabled at the object level or in the Generator that reproduces the object. In your case, if the SDS is active, that one needs the X-Ray set to on.

All the best
