R-2023: Spline point rotation?

Hey, wondering if I missed a tool modification or change in the way spline points work.

1. Create a circle spline.
2. Make it editable.
3. Select a point.
4. Try to rotate it with the “Rotate” tool.

Doesn’t work for me. Move and Scale work but not Rotate. Confirm?
I can access rotation by grabbing the tangents but I’d rather use the rotate tool. It’s acting as if I have “Axis” turned on.

Also, “Scale” on a single point doesn’t work.

Hi wesware,

Going by the manual, that is now expected: No entry about this feature.
https://help.maxon.net/c4d/2023.0/en-us/Default.htm#html/OSPLINE-ID_OBJECTPROPERTIES.html?TocPath=Create Menu|Spline|Spline|_____3

So why allow Rotate then at all? You can move the axis away from the point and rotate from that new position, which might be useful for some modeling requests.

You can use the “Share Your Ideas” to request this.

It used to be that way. It was an easy way to rotate based on camera angle to the point(s).
You could also scale the tangents using “Scale”. that seems too have gone away as well.
Not sure I understand why it went away.

Hi wesware,

You’re right; up to R26, that was an option.
Of course, I will write a report; fingers crossed that it will be back, so you can work as before.

Thanks for your patience with that.

All the best
