Creating this kind of shape

Hello!
I’m trying to replicate in C4d this file that was sent to me in Rhino.  Ideally the shape is made of only cubes (no rectangular boxes) but follows this type of form. (specifically the yellow shape)

I was trying to do it with clones, but wasn’t coming very close…

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi Alex,

Please let me know what works and what doesn’t.

Example:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/tXZE5zOZqeBDZyJ6HqNAJCY7tY9GrdBrGuqao3eOhsZ

In the file …01.c4d, you might switch to Volume> Surface.

What wasn’t clear from that stamp-size image: are these cubes have to be on a “raster” or random?

There are more options; the question is, how much control is needed.

My best wishes

Hey Sassi!

That’s a great approach for sure, but do you see a way for the cubes to not overlap?  I tried with the push apart effector, but it creates a bit of a mess…

Thank you!

Hi Alex,

The image was very tiny.

Please have a look here.

The Step size and the cube dimension need to be the same.

PErhaps to fine-tune the shape (prune it), use the MoGraph Selection and Main Menu> MoGraph> Hide Selected

All the best

Hey Sassi!
Thanks for that.  Strangely it seems that the amazon links points to the same files?  Is that possible?  I can see the URL’s are different but in both cases I get taken to the same file…

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, Alex.

The link is fixed. The file is …12.c4d.zip

Sorry about that.

Cheers
