Joints disappear when trying to rig a character

Hi there! I’m trying to rig a character. I have no issues creating the rig itself, however when binding the object to the rig and trying to animate it, the joints disappear and I cannot actually use the rig to animate the object.

I have tried it on both R23 and S24 but the issue persists, also when using something as simple as a sphere as a bound object. Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry that you encounter trouble with joints.

I have sent you an upload link. I really don’t click on shortened URLs—no matter who sends them.
I prefer scene files, as images don’t deliver a lot of information.
