Fields System and Team Render

Does the new Fields System in R20 work with Team Render. I have tried a couple of short sequences and I am getting poor results, as if the team machines are not using the correct sequence. Animation jumps all over. Is it possible to cache the sequence somehow? Or another solution perhaps?

Thank you!

Hi Devoted,

This is a very general question, and what is your set up? Fields are in so many places in use now.
Could you share anything more specific?

If you think this is a problem of the software, please contact the support:
https://www.maxon.net/en-us/support/how-can-we-help/

I’m certain that you have exactly the same version of Cinema 4D on each machine.

Cheers

I have a 5 Machine Render Farm, all using R20. I was basically asking if this was a known issue, now that I know it’s not I will keep experimenting. If I continue to have issues I will contact support.

Thank you very much!

Hi Devoted,

It should be the exact same build, not just R20.

If you have a little scene that causes trouble, please share.

I need some more specifics to research this (even though, since a few days I have problems to access the data bench, I hope it is fixed soon. edit: access again/edit).
If you conclude that asking for more specifics is a sign of zero possible problems at all, that is not what I would come up as result.

Please check with the Support what you have found.

All the best

Thank you, all machines are the same build. I actually started to render the sequence on my main machine without team render. I was curious so I stopped the render at frame 53 and then started the render again at frame 53, the frames look completely different. Don’t concern yourself with this any longer, I am going to render with my main machine a complete sequence at a time which seems to work fine.

However If you are still interested I can upload the file. The animation is based on the great tutorial eyedesyn created titled “Walking Through Fields: Flipping Panels” I made some tweaks, keyed the field, but for the most part it is very similar.

Devoted, a problem comes back until it is solved. Hence why I like to see it. If it is a pure support case, I will forward this of course.

Does it look like this:
Screen capture
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/OpxCdJVR8HjqJUi4IzpkhPbPhPViIalUmieMabTuAPE

Cinema 4D’s magic starts with the combination of its tools and functions, etc. Which results in many million possible set-ups, hence my use of term “general” – when I need the problem causing configuration.
So, I have send you an upload link to your Cineversity> Private Message> inbox.

I will test this over the weekend with different machines and see how it goes.
Thanks for telling me that you can work currently (and take the pressure out!).

If you use MoGraph, Dynamics etc, anything that can be cached should be cached.

Have a great weekend

Thanks for the file, Devoted, this is very specific and on the point.

The problem is based on a none cached Delay Field.

Here is a render (very small!) with the scene on top and no cache, and the bottom with MoGraph cache.
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/V4IkdMNkjPVCWHax34bphudbkafpv61YdrbU9beRlVt

Select the two Cloner, go to the Object Manager> Tags> MoGraph Tags> MoGraph Cache.
While they are selected, Attribute Manager>Build> Bake.
Then render.

You should experience no problems in this regard anymore.
Cache after each change.

A good indicator that you need to cache is given if you can’t scrub through your time line with repeatable and smooth results.

Enjoy your render-farm and your weekend

Image below, the green icon indicates a baked/cached Cloner.
