Hi,

Most of time I stuck in this, long way is bevel edge and then polygon to normal move and then joint both edges.
C4D does not have edge normal move function but is there any other trick…?

Thanks.
Imran.

Hi Imran,

Does the scene file contains what you are looking for?

Scene file
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/6L5Hj330EHq8rxFEZCWvCbic6yhO6kUMktiaAXV21xe

Note that the Plain Effector is set to Deform>Points.
Note that I used the falloff for the Point Selection, which means, if you have to create something like a thread for a lit, the in and out points of that lit thread can be limited with a Weight map, or any other Field based option.

I have it animated to showcase it.
Let me know if that works for you.

Proper point normals might be not always a given with all models. Which means, it might require two more tools, one that aligns those points first and one that moves those along its normal. Both could be suggested to MAXON.

My best wishes

P.S.:
If that was a question based on previous targets, here is the cap-screw thread of a bottle. The Fields are used to have the end of the thread smoothly end with the Cylinder Falloff. Move the Cylinder Field up and down to see the effect.
