Does anyone know of any tutorials that delve into the Interaction Tag in depth? I have only seen passing mentions of the tag from when R16 came out.

Hi vrauckis,

Please have a look here:

http://www.cineversity.com/vidplaytut/ibc_2014_rewind_lars

at 17:10 [min:sec], he starts out with explaining interaction via XPresso, but keep watching the ten minutes.

Intro (which you might know of course): http://www.cineversity.com/vidplaytut/new_in_cinema_4d_r16_interaction_tag

I hope that helps. If not, Suggest a Tutorial, is always the place to go

BTW, the Gear-Tool makes a lot of use of this function/option:

Perhaps the provided files will help to see how he uses it. :o)

Enjoy.

I hope this is the simplest way to explain the use. There is so much more possible. However, I made a little scene file and a movie (one minute long). Let me now if those clips help or not. I’m happy to get input on that. You can download the clip for your private use. :o)

The Adapter—this is a xyz (real) to vector. I renamed the input ports to RGB.
The Freeze node is needed to keep the values.

Let me know if there is a question :o)

My best wishes
