I’m experiencing issues with with DOF, where the model is blurring correctly, but the material is not. (see attached screen grabs for reference).
I have pin pointed the issue. It is to do with using ‘Frontal Projection’ in the material settings. You will see when I change this to ‘Spatial’ (or any other setting other than frontal), the DOF effect works beautifully. However, no other projection method gives me the arrangement of polka dots I’m after.
Now, you’re probably asking why I’m using frontal projection at all – and not UV mapping the texture. Simple answer really, I’ve only been using C4D for a short time and at this stage – UV mapping is too advance for the time I have left on this project.
Is there anyway I can get the dots to drop out of focus but still use frontal projection?
Any help would be much appreciated!
