Is anyone else having this issue?

AECC15 will not recognize my .aec file as a recognizable file.

I’m hoping it’s just my ineptitude at installing the plugins correctly.

Hi Art,

Would you mind to share the creation date of the plug ins you have installed from the Maxon-Cinema 4D folder into the After Effects CC 2015 folder?

(Ae CC 2015 v13.5.1.48 mac, works fine here)

As I’m under NDA, I’m not happy to name the date of my copies here, but I think even the C4DFormat provided in R15 was even newer, certainly not 2012!

I hope the support was able to clear it. The demo version has no plug ins.

One hint, based on my question about it, I was reminded to suggest always to check if the latest version is installed—updated. I hope you get your functionality as expected ASAP.

I was able to download a newer version of the C4D importer plugin directly from Maxon’s site.

I’m not sure if this was initially my error or if I was simply sent the wrong file with my R17 download.
Knowing myself fairly well, I blame me.

My main concern is only that you get what works for you.
I haven’t had suggested this link, as the R17 plug ins are not available there, and the R16 seems to be nearly a year old.

I hope the support is replying quickly, so things start to work for you smoothly. If you have a minute to share any findings, I guess other people who will run into this might be happy to read it.

The link to the R16 plugins on Maxon’s page (as shown in my last post) are working for my AECC2015/R17 combination.

I’d be curious to learn if any other R17 users experienced the same issue as I did.

Thanks for the update that they work, Art.

The Importer from that link is older, normally newer ones work more often with new Ae versions.

I have researched quite a bit, but so far, the delivery has just started and nothing appeared in “my” channels.

I’m glad you have things working again.
