Plug In Install Problem: ePMV [NAB 2014 Rewind - Thomas Brown: Medical MoGraph]

I am trying to install the ePMV (protein database) into my version R15. I have tried to follow the installation instructions given
by Graham and I still can’t get it to work?. I open the preferences folder at the bottom of the preferences window and place it
in the plugins folder and restart C4D. It does show up under the scripts plugin manager (epmv_synchro) but not in the plugins
drop down.

I have also attempted to place it in the library/browser to see if that works but I get an error message “ePMV not installed correctly”.
Placing it in the plugins folder instead I restart without any errors. I have also tried to find it by doing a search inside of the customizing
palettes and it is not found?.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance,
Gregory

Hi Gregory

Who is Graham? The presenter here from “NAB 2014 Rewind” was Thomas Brown: Medical MoGraph

http://www.cineversity.com/vidplaytut/nab_2014_thomas_brown_02

17:46—> Importing Protein Model Data (the EPMV plugin Thomas uses can be found at - epmv.scripps.edu/home)

The instructions are here
http://www.autopack.org/install

I just did the whole process here on an old Mac with a R15 version on it.

Did you placed the main folder into the plug-in folder or as suggested the two folders of that main folder?

There was also a pre-requisite to do so.

Pre-requisites [Mac]
Maxon’s Cinema 4D (C4D) r12–r16
If you have a different version, you can download the r16 demo here to try ePMV and autoPack
Uninstall any previous version of ePMV (and autoFill and autoPack)
Navigate to to your C4D preferences as described in step II in the Installation of the uPy… section below
Move the ePMV folder from .../plugins to your trash (or just pull it out into the MAXON folder in case you want to revert to it later)
Install X11 for Mac : X11 - XQuartz

It worked here, so I can’t really tell what is going on over there on your site.

My best idea, really trash everything and delete the trash. Then download a new version - unzip it and follow exactly, e.g., not trying to place things elsewhere.

I have attached a screenshot how my two windows looked like. One for registering it, and one that allowed me already to call up a model and as you can see got me a lot of materials.

I will move this into the tutorial forum, so it is in its correct place.

My suggestion: try to get in contact with the support. http://www.maxon.net/support/support-questions.html

All the best

Thanks for solving the secret who Graham is, very nice of you, Gregory.

I hope it will work for you, or at least we gain some more information.

The clip, if I remember correctly, he is not going through the installation process. I placed the question here, as it was the time this plug in is discussed here at all.

Either way, it should work for you, the plug in was dowloaded 10,000 times, so - it gives me the impression, that they would have gotten all problems during the installation by now ;o)

Good Luck!
