Hello C4d Family! I am attempting to clone along a path… a circle specifically but am not having luck… I want to create a “stitching effect” where the loops essentially draw on the shape… I am currently using cloner Linear to create a vertical line with instances of a torus…See attached sample as a reference…

I basically want the same effect but with a circle…Thyank you for your help!

Hi Ben,

Please check the sample-attachement, I can’t see/find it. If it is an image—800x600 is the largest allowed size.

Talk to you soon.

I do not have any reference, so I take your “linear works” comment and ask: Why not stick with the linear and place that into an “Spline Wrap” to get it circle-lined.
I ask this, to gain already more data, so the answer can be better.

Could it even be something like this (post four has a movie and an example) http://www.cineversity.com/forums/viewthread/1640/

Thanks, Ben, for the file—it is always the fastest way to get concepts like this communicated.

I had already prepared a file, then I saw your post and took this file instead (of course) :o)

Note: if you have the full clone line created, set the Spline Wrap>Object>Bounding Box>Fix Bounding Box, so things stay stable.

Let me know if there is another question :o)

Enjoy

HI Ben,

Thanks for exploring this option. I hope the parameters on the Spline>Wrap>Objects tab give you all you need for an successful set up, e.g., “Axis”.

My best wishes for the project. :o)

P.S.: Some might wonder why not using the Spline Effector? It is not working easily in that way, to say the least. But I can’t help it, just to the Creative-Library—I have attached an alternative, but as it works on Vertices, not better than the initial suggested version. Perhaps worth a few seconds to explore. The progress is based on the MoSpline “End” parameter, the amount on the vertices settings.
