Hello!

Is there a way to bake mograph shaders?

I have a massive scene with cloners that I’ve been exporting to alembic but I couldn’t find a way to get the shaders baked.
I really would appreciate if anyone knows a way to export the mograph shader data.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Enric,

The MoGraph options are Beat-, Camera-, Color- and Multi-Shader. I assume that you have the shader[s] in mind that work with an ID or the clone color itself.

There is no native solution for this “work” to my knowledge. I guess it needs to be done with an individually created Python script, to produce all the Texture Tags (or the export data thereof) first, then apply the textures, if the Multi-Shader is in question, etc.

The only way I could see is camera mapping, but I have my doubt that this will work, as each clone needs to be visible to the camera.

My suggestion, as a developer of plug ins, or the Maxon Support, if they have an idea:

Less likely that you have the time, but a suggestion would be cool:

Good luck.

Hi Dr. Sassi,

Thanks for the quick reply. I knew there wasn’t a quick solution without involving scripting. Will ask to one of my colleagues who’s great with scripting and see if he is up for the challenge.

Kind Regards,

Enric

Thank you, Enric!

Sounds good that you have someone who likes to code! :o)

Perhaps that might be something that can be sold later as plug in ;o)

My best wishes.
