Help with Rigging

Hi. I am purchasing a model of an elephant from TurbSquid.
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-photorealistic-african-elephant-rigged-model/580051

It needs to be converted to work in Cinema 4D. It was made in Maya.
Unfortunately the rigging that comes with it does not convert.
Is someone available to do rigging for me? For $ of course.

I need to have the elephant walk and move his head and ears and trunk.
Nothing too involved, just straight forward elephant movement.

Thanks,
Brian

Hey Brian,

If I got your post here correctly, this is an job offer. But have you considered to do it yourself?

Have a look here: (1-3)

There is of course a quad pet option included. Perhaps it might work nicely, as the mesh was already rigged for sale, which should normally indicate that the creator has no “surprises” in the mesh. Well, I haven’t seen it.

Good luck

Thanks so much Sassi! I haven’t dealt with character animation since using Maya years ago.
It was such a complicated process! But C4D continues to amaze me as how they made the rigging much more of a streamlined process.
The tutorial is really good. I will give it a shot…

Hey Brian,

You’re welcome. Yes, Bret as an Animation-Mentor alumni has certainly shared some good stuff here at Cineversity. BTW, he just celebrated his first full year at Disney Studios.

I hope you get your set up with the models!

All the best

Hi again Sassi,
I downloaded the new C4D 14.0 version and checked the tutorial again, I think I still need the help.
It’s an important client of mine so I don’t want to risk delays etc… while I get up to speed.
It’s a hurry up situation (whats new?!)
Can you recommend anyone who could rig this model for me?
I’ve had it converted to C4D already.

Hi Brian,

I checked your link, and the file comes in a FBX format as well, have you tried this.

But I see you prefer the freelance route. I would come into trouble if I start here a Job-Distribution.
