hi Cineversity,

Quick question. I sometimes use this link below,

http://www.cybergooch.com/pages/c4d/noise/c4d_noise.htm

to quickly view noise shader options for a material I want to create.

On the website, one noise option, “Random”, seems to be missing in my version of C4d 13. Has it been deleted from 13, or just renamed?

Hi TCG,

I can go back to r11 and it is not there. Random was a raw noise, with more problems than advantages. Were there any advantages?

As you can see in the link - it shows that it was just a pixel random, nothing based on a noise function.

I think I can say with some certainty that 2008 was the last year it was available. Since then, to my knowledge, this is the first time someone has asked about here.

If you need it back, you need to save it from a 2008 or earlier release and it loads nicely into any newer release. But you can select temporarily a different one. You have to stick with it.

I like to answer as quick as possible, thanks for taking three hours as fast. I’m on the Pacific Time, so it’s “early” here.

I hope this question/answer takes any uncertainty away from anyone who was used to have it.

Perhaps anyone with some shader coding skills can produce this shader, if there is a need.
