Hello,

In the C4d help for the Falloff node, there is an exemple to make falloff controling objets properties.
I try it to make some flowers growing the softly way (the growing effet is an xpresso with a simple DU : 0 to 100%).

It’s working well, but, i whould like to do the same thing with mograph clones, to have the super power of mograph effectors to place and random my flowers and a super fallof controling the growing part of the clones of my flowers.

Is there any way to do this? or does it smell snake (python)?

Hi Labo Gilbert,

Random: Is that perhaps more like a “Weight” based work? http://www.cineversity.com/forums/viewthread/835/

I will have a look into that example, I have no idea what a Super Falloff is nor what a DU is. Super Falloff, perhaps a Falloff that controls all other clones/objects.

The flowers are single objects, in varies forms that needs to be distributed randomly?

As usual, a little (reduced) scene files would help here. You mustn’t include Flower models, perhaps if possible, just “Polygon Objects’ with different names.

Scale/Grow: The falloff is responsible for the scale of all Flowers at once? I guess so, A Plain effector might do that already.

Simplest way: is attached.

All the best

Sassi

Hi thanks, sorry for the french / english.

Sorry : DU = donnée utilisateur = user data.
Thanks for the exemple, but it’s not what i would like to do because the plain effector only control position, scale and rotation of the clone.
The flower is made of some animated objets and, i use xpresso to controle the animation of them one after one by a simple user data slider, from 0 to 100%.

-From 0 to 20% = is the growing stalk, from 20% to 80% on top of the stalk is a big disc with an animated slice, from 80% to 100% the petals are made with little disc in a mograph cloner in radial mode, the xpresso control the start angle of the cloner, following the animated slice of the central big disc.

This is why i call it “super fall off” because it will control one or multiple user data of clones. the node falloff work well with a list of objets but not with clones.

another exemple : you have made a “transformer” and you simplified the transformation control from car to robot by using a simple user data slider, from 0% = car, to 100% = robot. You put the cars on a car park and, you want to apply a falloff to the cars transformations.

Maybe it’s more clear like this?

Hi Labo Gilbert,

DU—Thanks.

Please have a look here (attachment), perhaps that does the trick for you. It has of course only the XPresso “transition in it.

All the best

You’re welcome. The example above shows that the value of the falloff is proportional to the value that is blend between the first and the second child under neath the Cloner Object. This is (more or less… ) a connection. This can be done also in steps, whereby each new Cloner Object child with same set up, has the option to set up even more complex changes along the falloff. However, it is correctly said an proportional but indirect connection.

Nevertheless the example shows an example from 0-100% and how it is determined by a falloff. This was the initial question, right? Even a “User Data Slider” is used :o)

In the attached file are two examples. One that follows your link and simplifies it, so no C.O.F.F.E.E. script is needed, the other one shows a nice use of the Blend option (cloner) and the Pose Morph, as well simple, to communicate the idea.

there is an exemple in the help menu of c4d but, but I never managed to project their informations of mograph to achieve this combination. I have only one question, is it because it’s a blend betwin to or more objets or polygones? delay effector doesn’t works well with that kind of effect? maybe it’s me?

Which example is it?  Please note that you can only blend geometry that is based on the same structure. It won’t blend among different objects!

Delay Effector, do I get this correct—that you would like the delay e.g. spring work on the blend. Interesting idea, but to my knowledge the Delay Effector works on PSR (position/Scale/Rotation) data, not on e.g., weight. You might produce PSR delay results and “drive” the Effector as object with it, in that way the falloff moves accordingly.

Just an example of how the creation of a delay (source) can influence a secondary set up (target)
