Hi Imran,
I’m not sure what happened, but after I have set up my few “must-have” changes, like no grid, HUD, 24fps, and some other stuff, I do typically the following:
• Main Menu> Window> Customize> Save as Startup Layout.
• Main Menu> Window> Customize> Save as Default Scene. (The scene should be empty)
• Restart Cinema 4D.
What I have experienced and seen over the decades is that sometimes the “privileges” not given to overwriting files.
Perhaps after all is set and done, restart the application, go to the Preferences, use the “Open Preferences Folder…” button, and check the Pref-Folder: Cinema 4D.prf file, when it was written. It should be relatively new after a change.
