Hi,

Is there a way to have seamless stamp brush for sculpting?
Currently, whenever I change the direction of my brush, it has a coarse pattern.

You can see an illustration of the problem here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fs6d90vf22ujlj2/c4d149_seamless_stitch.mp4?dl=0

The second half is from Zbrush, which is the intended behavior.

Thank you for looking at my problem.

Hi bentraje,

I checked it and it works fine here with R21.

Please have a look here
https://help.maxon.net/us/#TOOLSCULPTBRUSHPULL-MDATA_SCULPTBRUSH_STAMP_GROUP?anchor=MDATA_SCULPTBRUSH_STAMP_FOLLOW

and here

https://help.maxon.net/us/#TOOLSCULPTBRUSHPULL-MDATA_SCULPTBRUSH_SETTINGS_GROUP?anchor=MDATA_SCULPTBRUSH_SETTINGS_STEADYSTROKE_VALUE

In the Stamp Tab, activate the Follow option, and in the Settings Tab, make sure the pattern is set up with the right length.

The Stamp image should have only one stitch, not more.

All the best

I have the Follow option enabled in the video above.

I think the problem is this “The Stamp image should have only one stitch, not more”.
My alpha image has multiple stitches. Actually, almost all alphas that are sold are in multiple stitches.

Is there a way around this? Like automatically detect that it has multiple stiches much like Zbrush can?

Hi bentraje,

The examples that you showed were different for each application.
It would be more clear to use the same stamp pattern in both examples.

I can’t find any manual entry for automatic pattern recognition
http://docs.pixologic.com/reference-guide/alpha/
However, I think Z-Brush has functionalities, of course, that are not available in general applications.

Anyway, Follow is the primary option for this. It certainly needs attention based on the image-pattern how other parameters are set.
My suggestion for a short pattern, instead of repeated parts in the image, was a suggestion to get what you are after.

You might check with the support if you think that is a problem.

Please make your suggestion for automatic pattern recognition.

RE: The examples that you showed were different for each application.
They are authored by the same person. So, they work the same.

RE: My suggestion for a short pattern, instead of repeated parts in the image, was a suggestion to get what you are after.
Yea, the problem with that is wasted space:

Anyhow, thanks for the confirmation.

Bentraje,

It works as well with rectangular sizes. Have a look here.

I hope that confirms that it is working with the proper images and settings, as suggested above.

@Dr. Sassi

RE: rectangle.
Thanks for the information. I didn’t know that.

The settings work but it presents another problem. Will just make another thread for that for future reference.
