Basic questions about rectangular selection

If I have (for example) a cube that’s been turned into a polygon object with n segments per side and I make a rectangular selection in the front view and delete the selected faces it will also cut out the faces on the back side of the cube, which is fine. Is there any way to “seal"the hole so it becomes basically a solid with a hole through it?

Thanks

Hi andrada,

This is not a given option. You have to use either the Boolean or the Volume Builder/Mesher option to get to do something close to this.

Besides that, the Pen Tool or other polygon commands needs to be applied.

If you have a specific example, please share the file, and I hope to be able to suggest the most comfortable or fastest way to do anything close to your target. But besides the initial two that I have mentioned, I believe everything else is combined with some effort.

All the best
