Is it possible to add tags that will render each layer separate in the psd.

Hi Trick65,

Do you expect on each layer a completely different rendering of the scene with perhaps even different textures and light, then the answer is no, not possible.
To do this would require to use Takes and render our different version of the scene, then use a Ps action script to combine all of these: Load image into a stackā€¦

If you like to have different passes of the scene, as in Depth, RGBA, UV, Motion, etc., then that is a given with Multi-Pass.

I’m not sure if your question could be understood as in not having a multi-layered file, and if each image information placed in a single psd file could be saved directly as one image (layer) file.

If this isn’t answering your question, please elaborate and detail your question perhaps. I’m happy to look into it then.

All the best

Just need to have the final render to be in players in the photoshop doc.. not one image with a bunch of alpha channels, I need the layers with the alpha channels applied.

Hi Trick65,

There is no option to have “a bunch of alpha channels” in a psd file on a single layer. Merging Alpha channels is not just adding them on top of each other anyway.
(Many alpha channels applied would exclude png)

BTW, this would be like a premultiplied image, and with this, the adjustability would be limited, so would be the quality. Photoshop is not well equipped to work with those, speaking of single layer approaches ...
Please have look at this example, with an strong S-curve to demo the effect.

Since I have no example scene file here, I have no idea what image or channels you have.

You might suggest that to Maxon, something like the Blend Channel.

My best wishes
