Any difference between Fields in R20 Broadcast and R20 Studio

Hi Folks,

I have R20 Broadcast and am going through EJ’s series on Fields, he references options that aren’t in my version, I also downloaded his scene files and its not there either, so got me thinking that perhaps Studio has more options than the Broadcast version. Can anyone confirm this as they are both labeled as “Advanced Fields” in Maxon literature.

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

Sorry about the late reply, not my typical behavior. Terribly sorry about this. I usually react to an email about a new post here, and yes, I should know better, this has not always worked, and check should check the fora manually and more regularly.

Please have a look here:
https://www.maxon.net/en/products/info-sites/product-comparison/
In the MoGraph part, you find the Advanced Fields for Studio and broadcast.

They are not named Advanced in the application. In the overview, any other Fields are called Basic Fields.

I have registered R20 in all four versions to see precisely what Fields are available. Please have a look at the image below

If you use an Effector Falloff or a Vertex Tag for example (set to use Fields) which one looks like what you see?

If you have Broadcast and you see the upper half of the options and not the options from the lower half of the image, then please contact the support.

Again, sorry about the delay; This shouldn’t have taken so long. Not at all.

All the best

Hi Dr, Sassi,

Thanks for the detailed and thorough response! There appears to be some differences in the Broadcast vs Studio version which makes sense. Thanks for the comparison graphic. Super helpful.

Cheers, Steve

Hi Steve,

Do you mean that you have in your Broadcast version only the basics? (upper half of the image that I have shared).

The Broadcast and Studio version have both the items shown in the Advanced part of the image, or to be more clear, both have any of the shown at all.

Visualize, as well as Prime, have the Basics only and yet Prime has a little bit less of the Basics.

Since I can’t see what you see on your screen, can you make a screenshot? Or:

Besides that, what can’t you reproduce from the tutorials? Please a link (of the tutorial) with the time, thank you very much in advance.

All the best

P.S.: Here is a screen capture, one minute long, with the Studio, Broadcast, Visualize and Prime.

Hopefully, it will help to identify the problem.
