Cloning effect

Hi Sassi,

I hope you are having a good week. Please see the scene file below. I have created a simple animation, when you click play a cloner creates clones of a circle while rotating them. The animation ends at frame 125.

What I would like to achieve is from frames 126-250, the clones at the start of the animation flow to the end, so they appear like they are “catching up” with the end clones. In other words, from the circle at the top, rotate down to meet the last clone at the bottom, so that by frame 250, there is a single circle. Note: this is similar to the Moinstance post but I wondered if it’s possible to get a similar effect using the power of clones?

Please let me know if this still sounds unclear and I will try to explain.

Thank you,
David

Hi David,

Thanks for asking, I hope you have had a good week as well so far.

Here is your file back. Is this as you would like to have it?

I animated the Transform parameter, and I have set the originally animated parameter back, which in return allows for this effect.

If not, please let me know.

All the best

That is exactly what I was trying to achieve (I did spend some time experimenting). Thank you.

You’re very welcome, David! Thanks for taking the time to reply.

There are certainly many more ways to do this. Nice that you experiment with the options.

Have a great weekend
