Hi Darrin,
thanks for sharing the shredding via fields tutorial,
I cant get it to work with a PLA-baked animated mesh that I’d like to shred.
Is there any limitation on meshes with pla animation on them?

Thanks in advance!
Keep rocking!
Mark

UPDATE:

Why baking PLA, it works nice with deformers (joints),
Maybe I messed up tag order before!?!

Hi Mark,

It sounds like that you got it working in the way you liked to.

Let me know if there is anything else.

All the best

Hi Sassi,
thanks for checking in!
Yes, thats right, there was no need to bake to PLA, which seems to override the shredding probably!?
Still looking forward on your input on my retargeting tag problem in the Q&A forum.
Thanks!

Hi Mark,

Finally, after catching up with the last weeks posts and questions, I had some time to explore your PLA/Alembic comment.

I see no difference, I cached the Cloth, then exported it. As a second step, Cappucino recorded all frames as PLA. Alembic exported it nicely. Bake as Alembic on the other hand, kept all new polygons where the tear occurs. I guess that was what you saw. So, in such a case, Export instead of bake.

Cheers
