Hi Folks;

OK so I own R13 but just bought a new touchsmart ultrabook, which is awesome, but it doesn’t have an optical drive. Can I download a demo version of C4D R13 and insert my key or is there another procedure?

Not a silly question at all. Since several computer these days have no drive “natively” anymore.

The question with the demo r13 is easy to answer, it is not online (anymore) at least to my knowledge.

My suggestion: get in contact with the support and check with them, if they have an option or link for for.

I guess you thought already about an USB DVD drive, but decided against it? I saw external drives for $20 already.

I will drop them a line. In this digital age they should have a digital download option. If not I might be able to copy my disc data to a USB Jump drive and install that way.

That should be an option, to order DVD or a USB version, perhaps a nice suggestion. ;o) Updates are already downloads only.

If you have the chance to copy the installer for the time being, I see no problem technically. Perhaps the support will answer that. (If I would have a DVD here, I would try it for you of course)
