Pose Morph import?

Hi,

I have a model done in Modo which I would like to bring into C4D. The model contains morph maps. After some experimentation I found the .fbx format will transfer the morph maps from Modo as Pose Morphs in C4D. These come in as absolute Pose Morphs with each one parented to a null under the main mesh. This seems like a lot of overhead. is there a way to convert these to relative morphs to clean up the object tree?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi bob,
This is do-able, but not as a simple command.
It might be easier to manually recreate the Posemorph tag in the end.
So essentially select all the geo. objects that are in the hierarchy and drag them into the pose list.
It will ask you “Add as an Absolute (yes) or relative (no) morph.
you want to choose (no).

Hi Patrick,

This worked perfectly. Originally I was trying to drag the poses into the existing pose morph tag. This did not work. I then deleted and recreated the pose morph tag and all work fine from there.

Thanks,
Bob

Yeah. I did find a way to do it without having to re-create the tag…but in the end it was faster to re-create the tag.
