Hi, trying to use the rotate in a planer effector, and I need to adjust the axis for the rotate. Is this possible, or what would control that?

Hi Jon,

I assume you have the “Plain Effector” in mind.

What do you want to rotate/ The Effector, the clones or the Fall off. Well, some parts might not directly have the option to do so, but to clarify the question.

All the best

Thanks, Hope you are well!!
I had some text that the plainer was effecting, so looking to have that text rotate from the plainer effector, but have the hinge or axis of the text be located away from the center. Like spinning around a pole.. The end result was to put a delay effector on it to give it some bounce. A lot of work for a bounce I guess.
Thanks

Hey Jon,

Thanks for filling in some details! The Plain Effector needs to be placed in the MG Text Object in the way you like to have the Plain Effector rotates the content. All, Lines, Words, Letters are the differentiation for that.

If that is done, have a look to the little + (arrow), that will move the axis of the part that you have selected, if All, the whole text will move around that axis, if Letter was selected, then every single letter will rotate around its axis.

Move that + and observe the screen, do you see color flu dots, that is the axis origin.

I hope that helps

All the best

Thxs, got that. Now how would one move the axis beyond the 100%, it seems to stop there. I’m looking for it to rotate maybe 300%-400% past the limit of the letters.

Here is a comp, the end goal would be to spring at the end, with a delay effector, is what I was thinking.

Hi Jon,

There is not MoText options beyond the 100%, which would be an feature request to MAXON.

Would you mind to check your file upload (someone else had a problem recently with that, so sorry if that will not work)
Let me know.

All the best

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the file, I hope I have attached the way it should be.

I used two Plain Effectors, one to move the letters away.

Then I placed the MoText under a Fracture Object

The next Plain Effector creates the rotation and the Delay Effector is responsible for the “spring” effect.

So, why the Fracture. If I did not used this trick, the Spring effect would be different and had some influences from the first Plain Effector in it. If that is not a problem, use the three Effectors in this sequence: Plain Distance, Plain Rotation, Delay (top to button)

I hope that works for you.

All the best and enjoy your weekend

Sassi
