tie or knot with cloth?

I am wondering about best practice to go about creating this tied loop ribbon? The important things are the cloth “gathers”. I’ve been trying spline wrap to not a good result. I’m now attempting some sculpting. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi motionmath,

Sculpting might work, especially when you use the Pen tool to get a mesh to your liking.

My suggestion would be to use the Bezier Mesh. (A simple plane and an SDS will do as well.)

All the best
