Mograph and Texturing using Mograph Fields

Hi Everyone

I’m looking for a simple tutorial that shows how to texture a mograph object based on using the Fields in Mograph. For example,  a grid of cubes change from a metallic texture into a stone material using a linear Field. I have found tutorials that just change the colour but not if it is textured. I want to be able to manipulate the field to effect the texture and position of the mograph object at the same time. I only use the native C4D textures, NOT Redshift. I’m sure it’s simple but still cannot find a tutorial. If someone can point me in a direction that would be great.

Hi David,

Please have a look here:

Please note that I have used the Vertex map shader in two places: In the Color Channel and the Reflection channel.

Since it works with Vertex points, the transition quality depends on the number of points a cube has; if it is low, then the transition might be soft or even imperfect.

(If the whole clone needs to change completely, please let me know.)

All the best
