Hello, I am trying to do something that used to be simple but for some reason I cannot get it to work in R26. I have a material with the opacity animated but when I render no transition occurs. It renders 0 opacity and then the next frame is 100. It is intended to be a 60-frame fade. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have attached a demo C4D file.

I have latest versions.

Thank you!

Hi Devoted,

Yes, it looks that way, but the reason is not in the opacity function directly.

Your background is set to be seen only as “Primary Ray Visible.” When the logo is 100% transparent, it is visible because there is nothing in front of it.
At the moment, the logo has the tiniest visibility; the background needs the secondary ray to be visible. Since that option was shut off, there is nothing to see, and you end up with a black result.

Please have a look here

You will see that the Torus is visible while the Opacity animation is progressing.

All the best

Well, that was easy enough! Once again, I can’t thank you enough Dr. Sassi for the time you spend helping with issues like this. Thank you again for always being there.
