Typically I would say no. Then the Connect object comes to mind, which works until it is for a short moment inactive and the Hair setup is gone for good.
I have not used this in production, so please test this carefully: The idea is that the Correction deformer is building an “editable” copy of the geometry (AFAIK); this needs to be used inside the Hair object. Cache the Hair object when you are OK with the results. (Again, it seems pretty stable.)
