Ah thanks so much, Dr. S!

All sounds great, but to be honest, my main reason for asking if I should open the materials in S24 and then save them (somewhere I can access) is because I don’t know how to/where to find the materials that I created and saved. :/

I’ve been searching through all the folders in Applications > C4D > S24, and I don’t see anything that looks like those materials.
Would you have any suggestions? Sorry to bother you with this.

Oh I get it!

“Create a folder and place it in the Preferences> Asset Browser> Databases.
Drag the object or Material into the sidebar of the Asset Browser. A Window
will open (Save Asset). Make your decisions; see image.”

Do this in 24 then open 26!!

After every Asset production, check if that works after the restart, e.g., if all the textures come with it (they should, but I wanted to make sure that all works well for you)

As a side note, you can save all materials from the Material Manager and open these files in another project in the Material Manager.
Besides that, you can also open any Project file in the Material Manager, and it will load only the materials.

While we are on that theme: Include that new Asset folder into your backup routine. (Just saying.)
