Hello!

How can I make thick curtains in the wind? (the wind part I know, but I’d like to play with the thickness of the object/plane).

Thanks!
Javier

Hi Javier,

If I get your question correctly, use the Cloth Surface object, it has a parameter that allows to set up thickness.

In R25, you find it when you click on the SDS object and hold it to open the palette, and then it is right-sided to the SDS. (Or shift +C to get the commander and type in cloth, select the green shirt icon)

All the best

Thanks! I couldn’t find it in the new interface r25! In other hand, how can I make a loop animation with the cloth settings? Let’s say I want a curtain to start moving with a light wind at 0 and go back same place at for example 90 frame.

Hi Javier,

Could you please consider putting new questions in a new thread? The forum would not be helpful if we had only long threads with a huge mixed bag of questions in each. Thanks for considering.

The Object Manager> Tags> Rigging> Point Cache

IS the way to go. Cache the animation you have, then switch off anything that created that animation, as there is a chance that it would now double otherwise.

Inside the Point Cache, you have the option to loop.
Example:

(My favorite looping is typically to use the Animation System (Animation clips), but it is often more work. It depends on your needs to Art Direct your results!)

All the best
