Can you convert C4d Asset browser objects to Redshift?

I am in need of some golf assets and saw the asset browser has a few nice ones. I am used to converting normal bought objects over to Redshift, however when I select an asset browser object, I have no way of assigning the images in Redshift, as it seems they are on a hidden drive or something. Is there a way I can convert asset models to Redshift? Since Maxon owns Cinema and Redshift, it would seem they would have this built in, no?

TIA

Hi psussi,

With thousands of objects, which one? I have certainly not tested all! grin

Materials can be converted, to a certain degree, if that is the question.

Cheers

Hi psussi,

Please check your PM (Cineversity Private Message)

The Golfball should work for you. If your Grass needs more attention, I can have a look into that.

Cheers

P.S.: Here is the simplest version of Grass for Redshift 3D that I think has a sweet spot between speed and look. I have used the same texture (manually painted) for the color and back-lit, only shifted (HUE) it slightly. The grass is not pure green; as I sometimes see it in visualizations, it has a lot of yellow mixed (secondary).

Please just load the file and let it render in Redshift.

Example:

If there is no close up, perhaps reduce the texture size.

I hope I’m not too late, but I wanted to use my evening to produce this with the care it deserves.

ENJOY!

This looks great! So basically, you recreated it, correct? There is a no secret ‘convert” option, right? I could not even get a physical version of the texture to bring into PS.

Thanks again.

Thanks a lot, psussi,

Yes, I thought the best here was to set it up this way. Certainly not the only way to go with Grass wink

Yes and no would be the correct answer. Sometimes a given material can be converted with the Redshift> Materials> Tools: …
Some shaders have no option to be translated with a click; some have.
Sorry, there is no short “one size fits all” procedure.

One of the core targets of Redshift 3D is speed, and with that, it is a good idea to know how to get the most straightforward solution.

All the best
