Hello C4d friends,

I’d like to know if there’s a way to take a joint (or weight) color into Xpresso so they can be assigned to other objects, in my case I’m using a spline.

Thank you all,

Hi Andy.Man,

There is no option in XPresso to pull this data from the Weight Tag. Sorry.

Since the amount of joints stays typically stable, you could assign the colors to the whole chain. This follows pretty much the HUE range. Should I look into that?

All the best

Thanks Doc,

This was more of a general interest than something needed.  I can get carried away with building elements like this just for the sake of it smile

Thanks for the reply, A.M.!

I think the best way would be to have this as a suggestion to Maxon. As an option to make this temporal colorization of the joints permanently applied. It shouldn’t be a lot of work.

P.S.: I couldn’t resist setting this up. If the sequence in the Link-List is the same as in the Weight tag, this should match.

The weighted plane is more for comparison and has no input in this at all. The color of the Joints is purely based on XPresso.

Enjoy
