Cineversity

I have an alembic file with an avatar and shoes. I need to add an obj on to shoes so it would move together. I have been searching and found that there is an alembic morph tag, tried but didn’t work , either I am doing something wrong or may be there is another way to do it. I would appreciate if i can get some help on this. how can i add that obj into this file?  Thanks

Why not make the object a child of the Alembic object?

Checked the file that you shared, thanks again… i did make child of it like that but in my case didint work. May be in my abc file there are more then 1 obj?  Like i have avatar, eyes and shoes and trying to attach on shoes..  So i did the child of the shoes, but didint work on my case

This is precisely my point of asking for a file. It is not for my comfort. It is just best practice and has been shown to provide results in a shorter time.
When I see a problem, I often have a dozen or even more scenarios in my mind of what could have happened. If I wrote all of them down, you would have a lot to go through, perhaps with no result even.

also i was thinking, another thing is the animation is not made in C4d, it is an imported abc.. May be that’s why making child of it dont work?

I guess i forgot to change the timing of the animation, right now it is on 90F but should be longer,like 600F .. just to let you know, not sure if that make a difference while you are checking the file why it doesnt work when I make a child of it

zipping right now, will be sending in a minute..I am attaching the cover as well in to zip but then i realized i exported that as an obj so it imports as one, not left and right but probably you can copy and paste is from the other file?

it states under 2GB but for some reason my zip is bigger so trying to figuring out that, thanks for waiting patiently, hopefully will send soon

I do not get anything here, so load the file “Boots_inch_Enhance_Sneaker_Right_Boot_Left.abc” in a Cinema 4D file and export the first 24 frames as Alembic, nothing else. Thanks.

hmm,  did you import the abc file on the google drive file that i sent? there should be the abc file on that rar.  and when you import into c4d, you should see the same files that i sent on c4d,  like these files that i attached the screen shot
