CMotion Question

Hi Dr. Sassi,

I am trying to figure out how CMotion works. I noticed that with the Phase property, -25% and 75% are virtually the same. Are they actually the same? is there a difference between them? (This is based on R/L_IK_Leg_Con+ controllers and their default settings when I created CMotion using Advanced Biped Character Object’s “Add Walk” button)

Thanks

Hi openmindedcomedy,

If I get your questions correctly, yes. You can test that with a copy of your setup. (cmd+c, cmd+v, not just cmd drag).

Then set one parameter based on your question while the scene is in"play” mode.

All the best

Oh, I guess I should just watch Bret Bay’s whole CMotion tutorials instead of guessing how this thing works. I actually forgot to search up cineversity tutorials for these kinds of stuff. Nowadays, I just go with my instinct if I am trying to figure something out in C4D. Thanks Dr. Sassi

Thanks for the reply, openmindedcomedy.

It is certainly a good idea to go with your instincts, and please keep in mind, there is no failure, only gained experience.

However, Bret Bays was (and is: see the new car rig!) key to all of that, Character Object, CMotion, and so much more. If you listen to him, you get FIRST-HAND information.
There were lately only a few Disney productions without his name in the credits. Enjoy the material; it is worth it!

Cheers
