Quick Way To Mirror L_IK_Arm_con+ PSR to R_IK_Arm_con+ Of Advanced Biped Rig

Is there a quicker way to do this other than manually doing it with Coord. Manager?
I am not looking for a Constraint Tag method, but like a “script” method (like when you apply it, it is still editable afterwards (does not have to be a script, but it would be good to know if I could write a python script for it)

Hi openmindedcomedy,

I assume you do have not have the binding pose in mind, which would align typically with a Symmetry plane as orientation. Anything else might be not simple to define while the character is in an elaborate pose (all parts are moved, for example)

You could try to create a clone of the IK to the other side and use it as a guide or even position snapping. Then delete the clone.
https://help.maxon.net/c4d/s24/en-us/Default.htm#html/TOOLCAMIRROR-ID_CA_MIRROR_TOOL_GROUP_OPTIONS.html?TocPath=Character Menu|Mirror|_____2
but you might notice that even this function, with so many options, will have difficulty keeping up with a posed character.

But perhaps, check out the CV-Too Forum and request a script. Maybe one of the Character/Script Gurus might have an idea.

Here is a little setup; see the file below. The Mirror plane needs to sit where the Symmetry plane needs to be. The Right null takes the original pos, and instantly the Left one places itself. These positions can be copied easily. (Or just position/Axis Snap.)

All the best

Thank you Dr. Sassi. Yes, this is related to animating the advanced biped. I kind of know about an xpresso method for this problem, but I am trying to avoid it (because I do not need to run it continuously). Probably I could temporarily use it (like disabling it after mirroring), but that would feel like it would be tedious

Hi openmindedcomedy,

This was meant as a stand-alone option, not to be integrated into the rig. This was also the idea to show the problems that an automatic option would have to solve.

You might even send a suggestion to MAXON-One directly.

I would think that the last central joint should be the symmetry axis, and with that, it should be a three-click operation. Define joint as axis, point to a source, click on receiver: done. This could be a tool.

All the best
