I need to create a scene like this but i need to show the movement of the submarine while cross section stay it’s place. Like i need a scene in a bounding box. How can i achive this? I tried to find a tutorial about it but i can’t. Actually i can’t figure out how to search it smile

Hi emre.mtl,

Please have a look at the file below:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/bz196mufR5m7vBiii7sDrOoAU8B2y16Li9HXU2G8F2p

Is that what you are looking for? The idea is that only what is seen after the camera view passed anything transparent, the blue object will be visible. If not in the cube, it is not rendered. Please check the Compositing-Tag for more details. The Tag is on the blue object.

Another idea would be to camera project a rendering of the cube’s alpha onto the ship. I would need more information, e.g., if the camera is animated or not.

If you can set up the camera and ship animation in the provided file, it will allow me to be more specific.

Cheers

Hi Sassi,

Thank you very much for your detailed answer. It’s almost what i’m trying to achieve but i need to see only capsule. Camera will be steady.

Thanks for the feedback,
Here are three versions, just the capsule limited to a cube.

One works with the Seen by Transparency [02]. The next use Boole and is my least favorite, as it needs some attention [11]. The third one creates a 3D alpha channel [21].

The Formula Shader might work, but I think file [21] is more intuitive.

Let me know if there is something that doesn’t work for you.

All the best
