Sketch and toon culling issue

Hello.  I have a sphere centered inside a cube.  Sketch and toon is enabled.  In the S&T render settings, I have defined a sketch material for both default visible and default hidden.  I want to cull the line within the sphere that’s circled in yellow.  I’ve made the cube transparent by giving it a material with just an alpha channel of pure black.  The cube’s shading is set to off.  I think the fact that the default hidden lines sketch material is defined is what’s causing the issue, but I cannot seem to figure out how to cull this.  Any suggestions are appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi itsmikem,

Please have a look here:

Instead of an alpha channel, I used the
Compositing Tag> Not Seen By Camera.

The Torus is more for illustrative purposes in this setup, It can be deleted.

Let me know if that works for you or if the project needs some other options. I’m happy to look into it.

Enjoy

Wow, that worked perfectly, and I never would have thought to use the compositing tag!  Thank you very much, Dr. Sassi.

Hi Mike,

Thanks to your questions, I explored it, and it works.
Never had that question before (an object inside the object, while mixed line settings).

My best wishes for your project.

Thanks for your reply, Mike, very much appreciated.

Yes, it is a win-win situation, and why I love to do it in a forum, your question will hopefully help many others.

Hi Joseph Fagan,

Do you have an example file? Please send it as a zip file, or I can provide an upload link (For security reasons, I click only on DropBox, Amazon, Apple, Adobe, Wetransfer, or Google Cloud services)

Have you tried to use selections?

Cheers
