Hi, i am trying to make this simple rig on a cube. I thought I could do it via cluster.
But when i add the second cluster, it distorts the cube.

So my question is, how can i have nulls controlling points in the simplest way possible? Or if any other options im open for suggestions!

Here is a video along with a scene file to see my issue: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bvp6w54iju5favt/AABOO_22_H2NoiaxwfMME5bka?dl=0

Many thanks!

Hi Thanulee,

Thanks for the file.

Set the Cluster> Attribute Manger> Object> Matrix> Object.
I hope that works for you.

My best wishes

Worked great. Its distorts the object at first but if i reset PSR under the same object fixes the issue. So i guess its a matter of pivoting as well smile

Thank you Dr Sassi!

You’re very welcome, Thanulee.

Let me know if there is anything else when you go into production with this.

All the best

Thanks a lot, in fact I have one more question: i tried to use the cluster on a spline (and since no vertexmaps there) doesnt work.
What would be a similar setup to control specific points on a spline via null objects?

Thanks a lot

Hi Thanulee,

Splines are a little bit more tricky, as points are created sometimes based on their shape.

It might be easier to create from Null Objects via Tracer a Spline. However, I can’t shake the feeling that this is not what you are after. For example, the Bezier will act very strange.

Here is an Xpresso setup, just an example:

Note that the influence to each point is determined by the RangeMapper> Spline-interface.
The Condition Node holds all point values. Those values could be “harvested” from a source spline.

All the best
