Is an AMD machine for Cinema 4D any good?

Hello,
Will a threadripper with 3200mhz memory speed up standard and physical renderer?
Also is a Radeon RX 5700XT card good enough for the viewport? I know Geforce has better bench score but I want to cut down on price.

Hi huanle5062,

Typically I do not answer such questions. The workload of every single project is different, more or less. One setting difference can make a big difference. Some people work very conscious about anything; others just crank up anything, perhaps not knowing better.
Besides, who has really all the machines to compare, with your very specific kind of work in mind.
On top of that, we have seen two significant updates in the past year alone. How much is really explored with S22 so far?

How compare-able is the rest of the setup, hard drives v. SSD, etc.?

What you can do is to check out

Google for people with other setups to compare.
This doesn’t give you a specific answer to your question either, but perhaps an idea about if it is worth to invest right now.

Often a clever scene set up speeds up things more than anything else. Finding the sweet-spot, is the key.

All the best
