C4D lite ground plane Issue // OBJ is not loading

I started using C4D Lite recently as a 3d companion for After Effects.
I created a project using a 3d match move from AE and imported it into C4D.  I created an extruded title and applied the match move and it worked, except for one problem.  The ground plane lines show up when I export the tracked title back into AE.  How do I get rid of them?
Thanks,
Bruce

Hi brugret2,

I have sent you an upload link via Cineversity Private Messages. I will have a look at it ASAP.

Perhaps anything that looks like this:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/3nAsHp2hoBNx0PR1yC9yvpFvosobhivmZTHiaiFYRWh
Then change the Cineware> Render Settings> Renderer> to (Standard) Final

All the best

Yes that works, thanks.
Is there a user’s manual that I can access?

Hi brugret2,

Nice that it works. Please note that this setting renders the scene in better quality, and requires more power than the default setting. If things get very slow, here is an option to improve the response time.

The manual can be accessed here:
https://help.maxon.net/us/index.html#1100

In the Ae Cineware Interface, the option is: Cineware Help>  Show
In Cinema Lite: Main Menu> Help> Show Help…  (If nothing is there, it might need to be installed. Help> Check for Updates)

The Ae Cineware help has some images with the German Interface, if you have a question, I’m happy to translate this “glitch”.

My best wishes for your project

Stay safe, stay healthy.

I have another issue. I attempted to use an obj model in C4D that I acquired with a background that I did a 3d matchmove in After Effects.
I used file>merge to load the model but I don’t see it. what’s going on?
Thanks,
Bruce

Hi brugret2,

Please open for each new case a new thread, so things stay organized, thanks.

For now, let us go with this thread.

I have sent you an upload link (Cineversity Private Messages) for the files that cause you grief. Please zip the content and upload it. If you put “Private” into the name of the data, I will keep it out of public view. However, that sometimes causes the need to recreate a similar scene to communicate this here.

I will get an email when a file arrives. I will have a look ASAp into it.

Cheers

Test files and screen capture.

The best way to help is via a project file. I typically avoid guessing, as some problems, even absolute obvious after being solved, could have been based on many other influences. Guessing is from my point of view, un-professional and a waste of your time. Hence why I ask for scene files. Even things could be solved a “Release” ago with something, that doesn’t mean it is possible today. Things change, and I try to never answer purely from memory. Since code is re-written all the time, I try not to be stuck in the past.

Since I didn’t get a file so far, I can only showcase how it should work, eventually wasting your time with it.

I hope these pointers will help.

Let me know if there is any other question, I’m happy to look into it.

Stay safe, stay healthy!
Happy Holiday.

Thanks for the file brugret2.

The file loads, but it is super small.
During the Merge: Set the scale to 102 [centimeters], this will set the car to its real size.
In case you can’t see the car after importing, press the h key shortly.

If that doesn’t work for you: What is in the Object manager? Are there any materials in the Material manager?
(It should have worked, but just in case.)

I will wait a few days before I delete the file, just in case there is a follow-up question.
Check your Private Messages here on Cineversity. You will find a new file with your data, open the Ae file.

Have a great start into your week.
