You’re very welcome, Ben.
Yes, there is certainly room for improvement. However, I always assume that I might miss something that could make it all happen anyway, although it is not working right now. I’ know that visually, we can do anything these days; it is only a question of how we get there.
There are two parts to this “game”. The first one is typically called the “PIXAR-Button”. (I love The PIXAR-Studio, don’t get me wrong.) It should just work without effort, just push a button or two and done. Which in return would have two consequences, everyone would do it, and with that, the effect would be worn out in no time. If it is a push of a button, why ask a ‘pro’ to do it, “my young niece can do that”.
The other part is, it is not possible, but needed anyway. So creativity kicks in. Working from an audience experience, backward, with cuts, and separated scenes in which sub-steps can be achieved is the way to go. Fooling the audience’s eye, because one understands his/her craft very well and can do “magic”. In the end, it looks effortless and convincing, but not showing the brilliance of the “make it happen anyway” creativity.
We move more and more to the “PIXAR-Button” world. Everything must work right out of the box, and on the highest level of quality possible. We all know what that means if we reach the state of all is done with a click. … and yet, I work hard to get everything as fast and smoothly working for everyone as possible.
Have a great day, as well.
