Problem on Importing Large File Size (3GB FBX file)

Hi,

I have a large file (3GB FBX file) from Zbrush that I needed to import to Cinema4D.
The problem is it just keeps loading indefinitely. After 2 hours, I decided to cancel it.

Importing the same file in Maya, on the other hand, takes 10-15 minutes. It’s still long but its reasonable.

Are there any settings I am missing out in Cinema4D? Or is there a limit to file size import in C4D?

Thank you for looking at my problem.

Hi bentraje,

Please check this problem with the support:
https://www.maxon.net/en/support-center

I have checked my (internal and external) sources, and nothing to report here that would be even remotely similar.

If you have it either in Z-Brush or Maya already, is there no way to export it in a few smaller parts? Of course, that sounds like a workaround suggestion. But the deeper meaning of it is that we might find the problem via the elimination process. Which might, in return, will allow for a faster answer to this question.

Elimination processing could be done as well by checking options off.

How is the OBJ workflow doing with this file?

Fingers crossed that it will be solved ASAP.

My best wishes.

Hi Dr. Sassi,
I already solved since I already opened it in Maya.
Will just report it to Maxon at bulk.

It’s really annoying I have to type my credentials again and again when I ask for the maxon support.

Hi bentraje,

Thanks for reporting it to the Tech Support.

Yes, I can understand to continue doing the same thing is annoying.
However, this forum is not a blackboard for complaints about Maxon, thanks for understanding.
We try to share how things work in Cinema 4D, anything else needs to be addressed where it is originated.
I hope that makes sense. I try to keep the mood here FAR away from complaints.

Cheers
